My name is Chelsey McCasland, and this is my second year as the Associate Principal at Basehor-Linwood Middle School. I grew up in the small town of Lincoln, Kansas, then on to Kansas State University where I graduated with a degree in Science Education and a minor in Leadership Studies. I then went on to earn my master's degree in Educational Administration & Building Leadership from Emporia State University.
My teaching career began at a rural school, Valley Heights, then McPherson Middle and High School. I have taught almost every facet of science, from 7th grade life science all the way to AP Chemistry. After 7 years in McPherson, my career brought my family to Basehor.
When I am not working, I love spending time with my husband, Matt, and two daughters, Thea and Blaire. We enjoy watching Kansas State football and cheering on the Chiefs. I am excited about the 2025-2026 school year, and am extremely blessed to work with our exceptional students and staff!
