Ryan Kazmaier

Ryan Kazmaier is in his fournteenth year here at Basehor-Linwood USD 458. He is the head director of the band program at Basehor-Linwood. This includes running the BLHS marching band, BLHS Symphonic Band, the BL Big Band and MS Jazz Katz. He also assists our new MS director Mr. Steven Rathert with 8th grade, 7th grade, beginning band and jazz band at the middle school. Mr. Kazmaier has directed the beginning band at Piper as well as helping out when needed here at Basehor-Linwood in the past. Mr. Kazmaier graduated from Kansas State University in December 2004 with a Bachelor of Saxophone Performance and in December of 2016 completed his Master’s in Education with an emphasis in Technology at Mid-America Nazarene University. His professional affiliations include KMEA, Essentially Ellington, KBA and NAfME. He is also the NEKMEA Jazz Chair as well as performing with such groups as the Moon City Big Band, the Jim Lower Jazz Orchestra, and the FMO Big Band. Mr. Kazmaier has a wife, Becky, who is the school couselor at BLMS and four children, Aidan, Robbie, Will, and James.
