Welcome to Basehor-Linwood Middle School, Home of the Bobcats!!

BLMS also stands for (Building Lifelong Learners Motivated to Succeed)

Basehor-Linwood Middle School (BLMS) is committed to providing the best quality education for all sixth, seventh and eighth grade students in the school district.  Middle school should be exciting and challenging to try new things for students.  The expectations increase at the middle school level and social adjustments are a large part of the middle school experience.  The school is larger than the elementary school setting, with students possibly having eight different teachers throughout their day as they change classes and subjects.  Students have more opportunities at the middle school with being able to join clubs or participate in the many sports programs offered at the 7th and 8th grade levels.  We also would encourage our students to try new things and take elective classes that might introduce them to career exploration at the high school level.

Our goal  is to challenge our students to be the best that they can be.  Students will be expected to utilize their laptops that are provided, we have MTSS tiered interventions for reading and math for all students, we offer different CTE courses for student interests, and work on individual plans of study for each student.  We are committed to working on the social emotional development for all of our students and helping them develop into healthy adolescents.  We want to encourage and challenge all of our students to be the best versions of themselves by providing rigorous coursework.  We do everything here the Bobcat Way which includes: Pride, Perseverance, Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Dependability, Empathy and Excellence in Academics.

We are excited to welcome our new incoming sixth grade class and any students new to our school. Welcome back our 7th and 8th grade students this year and I l look forward to meeting all of you and getting to know you.  I hope you are ready for an exciting and fun school year as we get ready to start the 2023-2024 school year.

Let's do things the Bobcat Way this year and have an amazing school year!
